As I reflect on my love for exploring Italy’s quieter corners, I often find myself thinking about the majestic Umbrian Apennines. While the crowds flock to the coasts, I choose these trails that wind through spectacular blooms and peaks still dotted with snow. I love the pungent scent of wild pine and the constant whistle of the wind blowing over the limestone ridges where I feel truly free. For me, the solitude breathed at these altitudes is the only medicine that truly works against the stress of the city.
